Have you heard? We're producing another podcast by Belfast Live

Business Comms

Hosted by two of our seasoned journalists - and perhaps less-so-seasoned Mums (their words, not ours!) - the show will delve into all the topics parents across Belfast and beyond are desperate to know more about.

‘Is This Normal?’ is the second podcast offering from our Belfast Live team following a successful first series production of its Irish League football show ‘That’s What I Call Football’ which was sponsored by local bookmaker Bet McLean.

Chatting to experts about everything from paediatric nutrition and childcare costs to online safety and getting babies to sleep through the night, our girls will ask all the questions mums and dads want to get to the bottom of over six episodes.

Q Radio's Ibe Sesay is also lined up to do a special, one-off episode on 'Dad Life'.

Claire - who is the Advanced Content Editor for Belfast Live and mum to Betsy, four, and two-year-old Alice - said: "We're really excited about the podcast. It's the perfect opportunity for us to sit down with some actual experts in all this parenting stuff, and find out the facts.

"Mums and dads spend so much time confused and worrying they're getting things wrong, so it's brilliant to get the chance to pin someone down and ask the question we ask ourselves week in week out - is this normal?"

Sheena - who also works on the Belfast Live newsdesk and mum to 11-month-old Dáire - said: "As a first time mum I had so many questions that I've turned to Google for and usually ended up more confused than when I started, so the Podcast is a perfect place to get those questions answered as well as chat openly to other parents about the worries and stresses we all have on day to day basis."

Belfast Live Editor Chris Sherrard said: "We're delighted to be able to unveil our new parenting podcast, Is This Normal?  This is something we've been keen to explore for some time so it's exciting to be at the point we're now at.

"We want our audience to get involved with the discussions around issues which affect us all and help set the agenda and topics for further podcasts.  Claire and Sheena are first-class journalists who bring a relaxed, informative style to the podcast and I'm sure it will be popular."

You can listen back to the six-part series on your favourite podcast channel or find 'em all here.
