Lorraine Tumilty: "I’d rather work more hours and have longer weekends definitely."

Business Comms

Our Finance Manager on what she wanted to be growing up, her fondest childhood memory and what’s top of her bucket list.

What did you want to be when you were growing up?

A Vet – the only reason I didn’t is because careers advice back then was shocking and I hadn’t studied Biology – some might say, that’s a bit obvious, I know…so the thought of doing a GCSE & A level in Biology at the same time didn’t really appeal to me so I opted for Business Studies..

If you could live in a book, TV show, or movie - what would it be?

NCIS Los Angeles or any of the NCIS shows – love them all…

Favourite place to visit?

Any city in America

What’s the most expensive thing you’ve bought (excluding property)?

A Car

Would you rather be always cold or always hot?

Neither actually – anywhere in between is good.

Which famous person would you like to be best friends with?

Theresa Caputo from Long Island Medium – I think we would have some laughs…

What do you consider your greatest achievement to date?

I’m proud of where I am today professionally but getting through Chemotherapy during Covid and home-schooling has to be one of my prouder moments.

Would you rather live in New York City or London?

NYC

What’s Your Fondest Childhood Memory?

Getting roller boots & a tape recorder for passing my 11+ - I spent every day practising how to go backwards down hills – plus I can still do it today…

Would you rather work more hours a day, but have longer weekends or work fewer hours a day with more workdays?

I’d rather work more hours and have longer weekends DEFINITELY.

Favourite hobby/pastime?

Gaelic Football – mentoring & playing – although it’s probably time I hung up the boots as the injuries are getting more frequent!!

What’s The Best Concert You’ve Ever Been To?

I’ve got 3 – Erasure, Black Eyed Peas & The Spice Girls.

Most valued item?

Me & my family.

If you could go back in time, where would you go?

I would go back to the 80’s/90’s – better music, great fashion, less gadgets, carefree and plenty of craic..

What’s your favourite meal?

Without a doubt – Christmas Dinner – Turkey & Ham with all the trimmings.

What is the worst job you’ve done?

Litter girl in primary school, if that qualifies – only did it because I got free sweets from the Tuck shop each week and I was never prone to warts so win win…
